Feature details

Setup (first steps)All plans

1. Open the theme editor from Online Store → Themes, then under "App embeds" (top left) turn on "Exp Points (base)" (loads the required CSS/JS on every page).

2. In the admin "Setup", enter a Slug (default: points) and click "Create" to auto-create the points page (/pages/points). No theme-block placement is needed — opening the page renders balance & history automatically.

3. Open the created page as a logged-in customer and confirm balance & history appear. The header balance pill links to this page automatically.

Earning pointsAll plans

Shoppers earn points on purchase. Earning happens automatically on order payment and never double-counts (idempotent). Points are "pending" right after earning and become "available" after the confirmation delay you set (to allow for returns/cancellations).

On refund or cancellation, earned points are reversed automatically (clawback), without letting the balance go negative.

Redeeming points (checkout discount)All plans

Customers can redeem points as a discount at checkout. The discount is applied via Shopify Functions, so it works smoothly in cart/checkout.

Balance and history are visible on the storefront "My points" page (/pages/points) and via the header balance pill.

Points preview on product pagesAll plans

Product pages can show “Earn N pt with this item”. The number is calculated from the displayed price and quantity using your base rate, rounding, point value, product/variant/collection rules, and campaigns (plus member-rank rewards for signed-in customers), and updates when the variant or quantity changes. Turn it on in the admin under Settings → Basic → “Points preview on product pages” (off by default).

For customers who are not signed in, choose what to show: the points as-is, the maximum after signing up, the maximum with member ranks, or nothing (the “maximum” formats are calculated from member-rank rewards).

Placement: open the theme editor from Online Store → Themes, go to the Product template → “Add block” → “Points preview (product page)”, and place the block where you want it. Without a block, it appears automatically near the “Add to cart” button (you can turn this off under “App embeds” at the top left of the theme editor → “Exp Points (base)”). After saving, it can take a few minutes for the storefront to reflect the change.

The wording (“Earn {points} pt with this item” and so on) can be changed with “Copy & template customization” on Pro and up (the “Copy customization” page in the admin). The preview itself is available on all plans.

Adjusting a customer’s points manuallyAll plans

You can manually add or subtract points for an individual customer. Steps: open the customer in Shopify admin under “Customers”, then use the “More actions” menu at the top right and choose “Exp Points 調整(顧客)”. The current balance, pending, and rank are shown, and you can grant or deduct points right there (enter a negative number to deduct; a reason is required and is recorded as a “manual adjustment” in the history).

To keep a points card permanently on the customer page, use “Customize” at the top right of the customer details page and add the “Exp Points(顧客ポイント)” block. The card shows balance, pending, rank, and recent history, with an “Adjust points” button that opens the same adjust screen (once added, the block always appears).

Tip: the balance is a value computed from the points history (ledger). Rather than editing a number directly, always change it through this adjust feature — it is recorded, and can be reversed later with an opposite adjustment.

11 languagesAll plans

The entire app supports 11 languages. Customer-facing copy, notifications, the storefront UI, and the admin are shown in their respective language (English, Japanese, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese (BR), Dutch, Thai, Traditional Chinese).

Plans & order limitsAll plans

Each plan has a guideline monthly limit for orders that earn points. The admin "Plan" page shows this month’s usage (an order meter). Earning never stops even if you exceed the limit — for headroom, upgrade to a higher plan.

The limit window is a rolling 30 days (the same order is not double-counted). The owner plan and Scale are unlimited.

Bonuses (signup, newsletter, birthday, review)Pro and up

You can award points for actions other than purchases: account signup, newsletter subscription, birthday, and review submission (Judge.me integration). Each bonus has its own enabled/disabled toggle and point amount.

The birthday bonus is granted automatically on the customer’s birthday, based on the birthday they register on the storefront "My points" page (customers whose birthday is today receive it the moment they register). You can also set or correct a birthday from the customer detail page.

Signup, newsletter, and birthday bonuses are available from Lite and up. The review bonus is part of the Judge.me integration, so it is available with Integrations (Pro and up). See the comparison table above for the latest availability.

Advanced earning (collections, per product, campaigns)Pro and up

Override earning rates by collection or by product/variant (optionally for limited dates with a start and end), run storewide time-limited campaigns (e.g., multiplier days), bulk-configure via CSV, and use tiered rates by spend. Caps, rounding, and exclusions are supported.

Active dates for rules and campaigns are checked against the order date and time (the order date shown in the Shopify admin). Orders paid later, such as deferred payments, bank transfers, convenience-store payments, pre-order balances charged later, and card payments captured at fulfillment or manually, still count when the order date falls within the dates. Points are granted when Shopify marks the order as paid, which is separate from when they become available.

Multipliers from a campaign that overlaps the dates stack (2x times 2x makes 4x). Campaigns other than multipliers apply to the whole order, so they still give points for items covered by an exclude rule. Rules whose end date has passed are not turned off automatically; they stay in the list marked "Ended".

Member tiersPro and up

Group customers into tiers based on their activity and give each tier a different earning rate (e.g., "Gold" members earn 1.5× the usual points). Rewarding your most loyal customers with faster earning encourages repeat purchases.

Choose the qualification metric from lifetime spend, lifetime points earned, or order count. Choose the qualification window from the last N months (rolling), the calendar year (resets yearly), or all-time.

Create as many tiers as you need, each with a name, threshold, and badge color (the lowest tier’s threshold is automatically 0). The reward stacking is either a multiplier (usual ×N) or a rate add-on (usual +X%).

You also control demotion (review monthly / never demote / review once a year). When a customer moves up or changes tier, you can email them (with copy customization). Tiers are recalculated automatically on a schedule.

Member tiers are available on Pro and up.

Customer segmentsPro and up

Group customers by their Shopify customer tags and give each group a different earning rate (e.g., only customers tagged "VIP" earn +2%). Reward targeted customers — wholesale, staff, campaign participants, and more.

A segment is defined by a name, the target customer tag, and a reward (multiplier or rate add-on). When several segments are configured, they are evaluated top to bottom and the first match applies.

Segments can stack on top of member-tier rewards. Per-segment grants are available on Pro and up.

Notification emails & copy customizationPro and up

Automatically email customers when they earn or redeem points. You choose, per event, whether to send (in the admin "Copy customization" page; off by default). Emails are sent via Resend, support dark mode, and are delivered in the customer’s language (11 languages). Automatic notification emails are available from Starter and up.

On Pro and up, you can customize the subject, body, and closing of each email (points earned/redeemed and rank notifications). Leave a field blank to keep the recommended default text. Storefront headings and buttons, and the wording of the points preview on product pages, can be changed on the same page.

LINE notifications

Notify customers via LINE in addition to email — when points are earned, redeemed, or about to expire, and when their member tier changes (Starter and up). Customers link by adding your LINE Official Account as a friend from the storefront "My points" page, then receive notifications via their chosen channel (email / LINE / both). Delivery stops automatically when they unfriend.

For each event type (earned, redeemed, expiring, tier), choose whether to send via LINE — independently of the email settings. Quiet hours (overnight deliveries are held and sent once the window ends) are supported on Pro and up, for both email and LINE.

To enable it, connect your own LINE Official Account (Messaging API channel) on the admin "Integrations" page. Monthly LINE sends are capped per plan (Starter 500, Pro 3,000, Scale unlimited); past the cap, notifications fall back to email automatically.

Integrations (Klaviyo / Judge.me)Pro and up

With the Judge.me integration, you can award points when a customer submits a review (set the webhook URL and secret in your Judge.me admin to enable it). Toggle the review bonus and its point amount in the app admin.

With the Klaviyo integration, you can send events — points earned, redeemed, and expiring soon — to Klaviyo for email campaigns and flows (coming soon).

Integrations are available on Pro and up.

White-labelScale

Remove the provider (Exp) labels from notification emails and the points page so customers experience everything as your own brand. White-label is planned for the Scale plan.

FAQ & support

Q. Can the points shown on a product page differ from the points actually earned? — A. The preview is the number for “this item at the displayed price and quantity, with no discounts”. It exactly reflects the base rate, rounding, point value, product/variant/collection rules, and campaigns (plus member-rank rewards when signed in), using the same calculation as earning. It does not include anything decided by the order total (tiered rates, per-order/monthly caps, segment rewards) or discounts decided at checkout (codes and automatic discounts), so orders where those apply can earn a different number. Rule and campaign dates are judged by Shopify’s clock, and changes to a collection’s products are reflected the next time the page is shown.
