Points preview (product page): easier to read, and you can now choose its colorsImprovement
The points preview on product pages has been redesigned. The points and the unit (“3,279 pt”) are now the largest text on the line, words such as “Earn” and “up to” are medium, and qualifiers such as “with membership ranks” are small and quiet — so the number stands out instead of the whole line being bold. The caveat (“estimated from the displayed price, before discounts”) is no longer shown all the time: a small info icon now sits next to the value and the caveat opens only when a customer presses it (it stays open while they change the variant or the quantity). You can hide the icon with “Show the caveat (info icon)” in the block settings. The default look is quieter: the gold left rule and the gold star are now a light grey rule and a grey star. Important: the product-page widget no longer follows the accent color set in the app embed — if you had set a brand accent color, this widget will look different from today. Instead, the “Points preview (product page)” block now has its own Colors section (text color, background color, and an accent color for the left rule and the star); leave them empty for the default, and use the clear button to go back. The header balance pill, the account card and the rank bar still use the accent color as before. The points themselves, how the preview follows the variant and quantity, and the wording are unchanged.
Points preview (product page): show the points a product earnsNew
Product pages can now show “Earn N pt with this item”, calculated from the displayed price and quantity with your base rate, rounding, point value, product/variant/collection rules, and campaigns (plus member-rank rewards for signed-in customers). It updates when the variant or quantity changes. Turn it on in Settings → Basic → “Points preview on product pages”, and choose what customers who are not signed in see (the points as-is, the maximum after signing up, the maximum with member ranks, or nothing). Place the “Points preview (product page)” block in the theme editor, or let it appear automatically near the “Add to cart” button. The number does not include anything decided by the order total (tiered rates, per-order/monthly caps, segment rewards) or discounts. Wording can be changed on the Copy customization page (Pro and up). Available on all plans.
Active dates are now judged by the order dateImprovement
Earning-rule active dates and campaign periods are now checked against the order date and time (the order date shown in Shopify) instead of the moment the order is marked as paid. Orders paid later, such as bank transfers, convenience-store payments, deferred payments, and manual card capture, now count when the order date falls within the dates. Orders placed before the dates no longer count even if they are paid during them. When points are granted (when the order is paid) is unchanged.
Set active dates on product and collection earning rulesNew
Earning rules can now have an optional start and end date and time. A rule applies only to orders that Shopify marks as paid within its dates (changed on 2026-09-17: the order date is used instead, see above); outside them, other rules or the default rate apply. The list shows Scheduled, Active, or Ended, and ended rules stay in the list without being turned off automatically. If the dates overlap another rule on the same target, you're told before saving. CSV import accepts startsAt and endsAt columns (leave blank for no limit). Existing rules without dates keep applying at all times, as before.
Exclude specific customers from earning pointsNew
Customer segments now support an "Exclude" reward type. Tag a customer — for example a wholesale partner, a staff account, or a corporate buyer — and orders from that customer earn no points, even when a campaign or a product rule is active. When a customer matches multiple segments, the one higher in the list wins, so place Exclude segments at the top.
Now on the Shopify App StoreNew
Exp: Points Rewards & Loyalty is now publicly available on the Shopify App Store. Thank you for being with us from the start — updates, improvements, and fixes will be posted on this page.
Points block works on any page & latest themesImprovement
The "Points balance & history" app block now works standalone on any page — balance, history, and redeem controls for logged-in customers, and a login prompt for guests. The "Use your points" panel now also appears on the points page (not just the cart), the header balance pill supports the latest Shopify themes (Horizon generation), and the widget explains clearly when the cart is still empty — all in 11 languages.
Points history shows how points were earnedImprovement
Each earning entry in the points history can now show its breakdown — base rate, member rank bonus, customer segment bonus, campaigns, and per-product rules — so shoppers and merchants can see exactly why an order earned the points it did. Shown on the storefront points page and in the admin customer view.
LINE notifications (Starter and up)New
Notify customers via LINE in addition to email — when points are earned, redeemed, or about to expire, and when their member rank changes. Customers link by adding your LINE Official Account as a friend from the points page and choose email, LINE, or both. Per-event toggles, monthly send caps by plan, and automatic email fallback are included.
Multi-currency accuracyImprovement
For stores selling in multiple currencies (Shopify Markets), the redeem panel now shows amounts in the shopper’s display currency, and point earning is always computed on the store’s base currency — so rates stay accurate across markets.
